In this matcha gift set you'll find four of our high-quality matchas from Yoshida Meichaen, representing some of Japan's finest single origin and blended teas. While terms like ‘ceremonial grade’ are mere marketing myths, we wouldn’t hesitate to serve any of these in a formal temae.

These four 20g cans come in a wooden box for a classy presentation. This is the perfect gift for any matcha connoisseur.

Founded over 200 years ago, the small 2 hectare tea fields of Yoshida Meichaen are nestled in the Ogura district of Uji. When they started growing here, their fields were surrounded by many other farms, but in the past 30 years, these tea fields were replaced by houses and buildings as the city of Uji grew.

To experience the many flavours of matcha, the four matchas included in this set each have a different taste profile:

  • 20g Umezuki: a bright and fresh single origin Okumidori tea for daily usucha
  • 20g Uji Hikari: a creamy and sophisticated hand-picked single origin tea for both usucha and koicha
  • 20g Uji Kiku-no-sono: a creamy and elegant blend for both usucha and koicha
  • Uji Samidori: a soft and silky tea made from hand-picked, straw-shaded tencha, for both usucha and koicha
