This small vintage handmade Oribe-yaki chawan (matcha bowl) is made in the classic Hantsutsu-gata (half-cylindrical) shape and features a glossy black glaze which contrasts against the light cream clay body. This style typifies kuro-Oribe, or black Oribe wares.
