This ginyō (銀葉 - mica plate) is for enjoying fragrant wood incense (香木 - kōboku) such as aloeswood when using the traditional monkō (聞香) method as done in the Japanese way of incense.

This mica plate is for use in conjunction with a censer, ash, charcoal, and fragrant wood incense which can be brought separately or together along with other essential incense tools in our Incense Ceremony Starter Set. 

After extended use, the resin from the aloeswood may stick to the mica plate. This can often be scraped or scrubbed off with the assistance of rubbing alcohol. If it does not come off, replace the mica plate.
