This wide chazutsu (tea canister) is made from tin-plated steel and wrapped with black washi paper decorated with abstract geometric patterns and orange and white flowers.
Featuring an airtight inner lid, this canister is perfect for keeping 150 grams of tea fresh. Note: the canister's capacity is measured with sencha, meaning it may hold more or less of other teas.
Founded in 1910, Kotodo (江東堂) has been producing handmade tea canisters for 112 years. Compared to machine-made canisters, their washi-wrapping is seamless, with no bumps where the lid meets the body, producing a clean silhouette. Additionally, the lid can be rotated counter-clockwise until it clicks, ensuring the pattern is perfectly aligned.
