This large, stunning Banko-yaki kyusu (teapot) features is made from purple clay and engraved with a scaled pattern. Its 360 mesh strainer wraps around the inside of the pot and is perfect for brewing even the most deeply-steamed fukamushi senchas.
Banko-yaki (萬古焼) is a type of Japanese pottery that traditionally comes from Yokkaichi in Mie Prefecture, Japan. Its characteristic purple hue comes from the mixture of red oxidised iron and blue high temperature-baked iron in the clay.
