Japanese Kyusu - 山勇 Floral Banko-yaki Teapot - 330ml

This Banko-yaki kyusu (teapot) comes with a fine mesh strainer and is decorated printed and gilded flowers on branch. Made by 山勇.

Banko-yaki (萬古焼) is a type of Japanese pottery that traditionally comes from Yokkaichi in Mie prefecture, Japan and dates back to the 18th century. Its characteristic purple hue comes from the mixture of red oxidised iron and blue high temperature-baked iron in the clay.

Condition: Good (chips on inner rim and spout; tea stains on the inner pot. Please see photos)
