This wan-nari chawan (matcha bowl) is made in the Annan (安南 - Vietnamese) style of blue-and-white porcelain, and is decorated with Chinese characters of the earthly branches of the zodiac. Inside, the featured kanji is 寿 (kotobuki - longevity).
This chawan ships with its original kiribako (桐箱 - wooden paulownia box)
Fired at Rakuzan Kiln (楽山窯), this chawan was made by a member of the Shimizu family, who specialise in tea ceremony utensils, especially Korai chawan, and have studied in Korea and built a kiln there.
