This winter chawan (matcha bowl) features a tall, cylindrical body with a three part wari-koudai (split foot), and a grey glaze decorated with pink gohonte spots and hand-painted egrets.
This bowl is a replica (写 - utsushi) of the famous Edo-era 'Gohon-tachizuru' (御本立鶴) chawan, supposedly ordered by Kobori Enshu.
Ships in original tomobako (wooden paulownia box).
