This elegant mizusashi (water container) features white porcelain decorated with blue kanji and mountainous village motifs. A small spot on its lip has been repaired via kintsugi.
A mizusashi (水指 - fresh water container) is used to store fresh water used to refill the kama (釜 - kettle) during a tea ceremony. They are usually made from ceramics, lacquer, or occasionally bare wood.
