This tall Akogi-yaki shiboridashi (handless, filterless teapot) features a delicately spiraled shape with a flared lip glazed in a mottled brown-orange.
Instead of a filter, this shiboridashi has an array of fine grooves, typical of the Shigaraki-style, which help keep the leaves from being poured out.
Though designed for gyokuro, kabusecha, and high quality sencha, this shiboridashi can be used for a variety of teas.
