This Agano-yaki tea set includes one kyusu (teapot) and two yunomi (teacups) each featuring a beautiful blue drip-glaze. The teapot's ceramic do-ake filter is perfect for naturally straining tea.
Agano-yaki (上野焼) is a type of Japanese pottery that traditionally comes from Fukuchi in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. Praised for its elegance and light weight, Agano ware began being produced in the 17th century.
Agano ware is famous for its use of enamels over the glaze. The most well-known of these enamels produces a vibrant blue-green/turquoise dripping effect caused by copper oxide in the enamel.
