This Japanese tea set includes one Akogi-yaki shiboridashi (handless, filterless teapot) and five guinomi (teacups), each featuring a light grey-green glazed interior, which spills out onto the orange exterior where it pools and forms hare's fur patterns.
Instead of a filter, this shiboridashi has a set of grooves which help keep the leaves from being poured out.
Though designed for gyokuro, kabusecha, and high quality sencha, this shiboridashi can be used for a variety of teas.
Akogi-yaki (阿漕焼) is a subset of Banko-yaki (萬古焼) that has been made traditionally in Tsu City in Mie Prefecture for over 200 years.
