Aloeswood Chips
Experience the true power of aloeswood (沈香 - jinkō) in its natural form. Also known as agarwood, eaglewood, and oud, this aromatic resinous wood is at the centre of incense culture. Deep, complex, and indulgent, the aroma of aloeswood is powerful and transformative.
These aloeswood chips can be heated over ash and charcoal in the traditional manner, or enjoyed more conveniently with an electric incense heater. For best results, begin with a low temperature so that no smoke is emitted from the wood. This initial burst of aroma is the most sweet and complex and should be savoured personally and intently. After the aroma begins to fade, increasing the temperature can bring out stronger aromas which can perfume a larger space.
Each sachet contains ~0.8g of chips (approximately 16-24 chips) which can be cut down to smaller sizes as desired, with only a small amount needed to enjoy or perfume a space.

Founded in 1772, Yamadamatsu Kōboku-ten (山田松香木店) is one of Japan's most respected incense houses. As their name suggests, they have long specialised in kōboku - the aromatic woods of sandalwood, aloeswood, and kyara which form the heart of Japanese incense culture. Their original recipes lean heavily on the exquisite quality of their raw ingredients and the ingenuity and creativity with which they combine them to form unforgettable aromas.
