Hattori Seicha 服部製茶

Hattori Seicha was founded by Hattori Yoshiaki (服部吉明), a fourth generation tea wholeseller from a family business with over 100 years of experience. After realising the disconnect between tea drinkers and the farmers that grow their tea, he decided to spin off and start his own company in 1989.

Today, Hattori Seicha specialises in organic and pesticide-free tea cultivation, striving to create safe, natural, and delicious tea in a sustainable and forward-thinking manner. Working in tandem with the rich and diverse microbiome of a tea field and encouraging healthy biodiversity is not only considerate of the environment, but also helps create rich and nutritious soil. An example of Hattori-san's ingenuity is his installation of solar panels over one of his fields which serves both as power generation and as shading.
