This Banko-yaki tea set includes one kyusu (teapot), one yuzamashi (handleless katakuchi; water cooler), and five yunomi (teacups) each decorated with egrets and an ash green glaze. The teapot's built-in ceramic debeso filter is perfect for naturally straining tea. Ships in original wooden box.
Banko-yaki (萬古焼) is a type of Japanese pottery that traditionally comes from Yokkaichi in Mie Prefecture, Japan. Its characteristic purple hue comes from the mixture of red oxidised iron and blue high temperature-baked iron in the clay.
