This Kiyomizu-yaki porcelain houhin (handleless teapot) has a deep shape and is decorated in a style called sai-tokusa (彩十草), a colourful variation on the classic tokusa design of vertical lines inspired by horsetail grass. Each stripe is hand painted in blue, green, and orange. Additionally, the rim of the pot and the lid knob have been gilded. To aid in filtering and pouring, there are grooves at the spout along with holes in the lid.
