This tall nasu-gata Takatori-yaki houhin (handleless teapot) features a closed spout which allows more controlled pouring and is covered in a beautiful brown and yellow drip glaze.

Takatori-yaki (高取焼) is a type of Japanese pottery that traditionally comes from Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. The original Takatori workshops were founded by Korean potters following the Japanese invasion of Korea in the 16th Century. In the nineteenth century, Takatori-yaki became one of the Seven Famous Kilns of Enshū, preferred by tea ceremony master Kobori Enshū.
