For centuries, small family-owned tea farms have formed the heart and soul of the Japanese tea industry, and in an age of ever-increasing industrialisation, the slow, deliberate, thoughtful interactions between a farmer, their soil, and their environment have become increasingly precious. Each tea is a unique snapshot of a farmer's effort, their climate, and their wishes to produce the best tea that they can. Working with small-scale producers allows us to share these precious teas and in doing so, support and uphold the age-old traditions of tea cultivation, as well as encourage those that will allow this culture to continue expanding its horizons.
