This hantsutsu-gata Kyo-yaki chawan (matcha bowl) features a crazed grey glaze with beige spots in a pattern known as gohonte. The bowl is decorated with painted white and red flowers with gold accents. Made by Tanaka Kousen (田中香泉).
Kyo-yaki (京焼) is a type of Japanese pottery that traditionally comes from Kyoto, Japan. The pottery traditions of Kyoto date back to the 5th century and are varied in their styles.
The 100-Prong chasen (百本立茶筅) and matching chashaku are made with dark kurotake bamboo.
